a bright sunshiney day!

I celebrated 5 years of living in Washington back in February. It really doesn't seem that it's been that long! When we first moved, we were warned about the weather and encouraged to get geared up for a lot of rain. Honestly, it has not been that bad.

But this year has proved to be the exception.

We're surviving a rather rough winter for this area. (I say this present tense because it would be a little too confident to assume it's over.) Most people think it snows a lot in Washington; that is incorrect. Eastern Washington gets snow in the winter and that's the norm. Western Washington, where Puyallup & Seattle are located, is not supposed to receive more than a dusting of snow maybe twice a season. Well, there's a first time for everything.

On April 1st, we woke up to snow falling. It lasted maybe an hour before switching to rain, but nonetheless, it was snow. That was about the 12th time it has snowed this season...crazy! We've endured icy streets, freezing rain, 8in of snow in our neighborhood, and much, much more. Being a little too dramatic, you think? Remember, I'm from ALABAMA. And for the first time in 5 years, I looked at Alan this week and said, "I do not like the weather here."

I don't want to end this on a downer so it's a good thing I woke up to light shining through my window. It's going to be a beautiful, blue sky day with highs around 60. Welcome Spring! Please stay! I will take every opportunity to go outside, enjoy the cherry blossom trees, and go for walks!

What's your weather like?

Freezing! You know we always have a cold snap just as you are getting used to wearing flip flops again. Should be warm for Easter. Much love!
