My 100

So I read Milla's blog today and she posted 100 fun facts about herself and then "tagged" me to do the same. Not wanting to let her down, the following is "my 100."

1. My birthday is February 26.
2. When I see that date printed anywhere I am apt to keep it.
3. Hince the reason why my cable bill is still on my fridge; it was dated on Feb.26
4. Don't worry, I already paid that bill, but that is my least favorite chore.
5. I am a housewife and a mommy.
6. I love both roles, but it took me a little while to get used to them.
7. Especially staying at home; with time, I now actually enjoy staying home all day.
8. Our house is really quiet and I love it.
9. which is probably ironic because I tend to be a little loud.
10. Most days I wish I had the reputation of being quiet and meek.
11. But I don't think I do.
12. That's okay, I suppose the most important thing is that I know when to be quiet.
13. I screw up on this occasionally.
14. My husband is Alan.
15. Our son has red hair like he does.
16. But Noah looks like me in every other aspect....just ask the mirror.
17. No one seems to notice that though....they all say, "look at little Alan."
18. I smile inside when I hear that.
19. Alan & I love to watch sports together.
20. Recently, we've been enjoying the Cosby Show on DVD a few times a week.
21. That show really makes me laugh.
22. I like to tell Alan stories from childhood up until I met him.
23. Sometimes he likes them.
24. Other times, he makes fun of me.
25. Like the multiple times I, (along with my youth choir,) sang the national anthem at Major League Baseball games.
26. I tell this to everyone.
27. Alan laughs.
28. But hey, we all have that one go-to fun fact, don't we?
29. I met Alan while working at O'Henry's.
30. I still love that place and it appears in my dreams a few times a year.
31. My mom and I used to go there for coffee when I was in college.
32. I went to Samford University.
33. I loved every day I spent there and get misty eyed when I ride through campus.
34. Alan mocks the size of the football team.
35. I agree and we both laugh.
36. Speaking of football, I love Auburn.
37. But growing up, I loved Alabama and cried when they lost.
38. It still kills my mother's feelings that I pull against them now.
39. But my husband is so compelling.
40. My Dad didn't watch football with us growing up.
41. We just went to the beach together.
42. My grandparents lived in Florida so we never went anywhere else for vacation.
43. I'm teased to this day for living in the Northwest without a love for camping.
44. But I do have the love for coffee.
45. I now reside in Puyallup, WA.
46. Everyone, including myself, has a hard time pronouncing this correctly at first.
47. I don't have any animals, but would love a golden retriever one day.
48. On second thought, I would like for a friend to have one and let me take it for walks everyday.
49. I'm not a fan of animal hair so my dog owning days will probably not go well.
50. I grew up with cats.
51. My cat was Smokey and we had her for 13 years.
52. She died on my mom's birthday and you would have thought we lost a human.
53. My best friend since birth was Lisa.
54. She also had a cat, named Scooter Muffin.
55. But her Mom ran over it. They didn't mourn for him like we did Smokey. They weren't cat people.
56. In fact, Lisa was afraid of animals until recently, I presume, because she is now a dog owner.
57. Abbie was another childhood best friend.
58. She had a Yorkie named Tori and we bathed her in the kitchen sink.
59. Abbie and I were the same year in school and eventually had a class together in 8th grade.
60. She was much cooler than I was in school.
61. She went to Auburn and that's what made me begin to like it.
62. Alan went to Auburn, but I didn't know him then.
63. He says that's a good thing.
64. For the record, I never rode the bus to school as a kid.
65. Alan did.
66. We have an ongoing disagreement about our child's transportation to school one day.
67. Alan's says he will ride the bus and I say he won't.
68. Good thing Noah is only 7 months because this one might take a while to determine.
69. However, I enjoy submitting to Alan so I should scope out the nearest bus stop.
70. I love to read.
71. One of my new favorite authors is FB Meyer.
72. I read a book of his with my mentor, Jenny.
73. She is amazing and perhaps one of the easiest people to talk to.
74. She asks me really great questions and calls me out for screwing up when I need it.
75. I enjoy podcasting sermons and listening to them while I do laundry.
76. I really like Bob Caldwell, pastor of Calvary Chapel Boise.
77. I had three best friends in college: Mary Ann, Krista, and Stefanie.
78. We still keep in touch and see one another at weddings.
79. But Stefanie's wedding is this summer and seeing as how the rest of us are already married, we'll have to make other arrangements.
80. Mary Ann's family is Greek and they kiss one another on the cheek. I love it. It makes me want to kiss people on the cheek too.
81. I have one older sister, Allison.
82. We are really different and we know it.
83. I've always had this pride for her that is hard to explain.
84. I'm always a late comer on technology.
85. I just added text messaging to my phone.
86. I just got into playlists and itunes.
87. I took over Alan's ipod.
88. I listen to it while I work out at the Y.
89. Which is another new thing I've been doing: working out 3x a week.
90. I get to go with Alan on Mondays because he is off.
91. That's my favorite day of the week.
92. Except for Sunday....I love our church.
93. I love my friends at church and our home fellowship group.
94. I love waking up early in the morning to read the word.
95. That is something I've aspired to due since college, and by the grace of God, I know do it.
96. I'd like to live in Birmingham again some day.
97. Sometimes I'm tempted to go on real estate websites and look for homes there.
98. But I don't, because that's not real healthy for me.
99. I excited to see what is coming next...
100. Speaking of next, my washer just finished and I have to get ready for my mother-in-law to come.

Thanks, Milla; that was fun!

Ahhh!!! I love it love it love it. Your "discussion" about the bus has happened with us to - I never rode one, but Brad says its fun. I also think it's hilarious that you keep anything with your birthdate on it, and I love that you used to sing the national anthem at games. Do you still like to sing? Great update. I really enjoyed learning a little more about my sis-in-law!

Ditto to Milla. And thanks Milla for tagging her. Y'all are both wonderful writers. Please don't tag me as I probably won't respond---sad. That would take me several weeks which I don't have.

#17--I've noticed.
#39--very compelling and he makes football FUN.
#67--Kathryn's also a huge fan of the bus.
#100--I think you have time for several more loads. VERY SAD

Kathryn did some eye rolling at the dinner table when I announced that I didn't want to be tagged.
"you don't have a blog, how are you going to be tagged?!" said she.

Tom said he doesn't want to be tagged either. Some things never change - people still don't want to be "it"

HAHAHA!!! You can still be tagged even if you don't have a blog. You could send out a "My 100" email maybe? I should have thought to tag you. I'd like you to spend 2 weeks writing a 100 list, as I'd probably learn many new things!

I'd like KK and Memama to write one too!
