Rainy Days and Mondays....
Okay, Mondays don't get me down because Alan is off work and we regroup from the previous week. However, rainy days are a different story. This is my 5th winter in Seattle and by far the most miserable. I hate to sound like Debbie Downer, but for some reason I cannot kick the sick feeling I get in my stomach when I know I must face the wind, rain, and frigid temps. Maybe it's having Noah around and I don't want to get him out. Maybe it's because my budget doesn't not agree with my cravings for Starbucks when it's yucky outside. Or maybe I'm just a southerner who likes 70 degree temperatures in January. Or maybe I like to take walks in the winter and this precipitation does not allow me to do so. Or maybe I just need a vacation. Yep, definitely the latter. So, I'm leaving....this Sunday to be exact. I will stroll along the white, sandy beaches of the Gulf, visit with my family, have coffee with friends, and enjoy one of God's greatest gifts to the United States: Birmingham. (Okay, maybe I took it too far.) And as far as rainy days go, perhaps I will not have to endure one in the next week. And Monday's? I get my husband, as usual, and possibly a hot cup of O'Henry's in my hand....that's a great Monday.
